Nestled in the heart of Detroit’s vibrant Cass Corridor, La Feria offers an authentic Spanish dining experience that expertly captures the spirit of tapas culture. This charming Spanish restaurant and tapas bar invites you to explore a menu teeming with bold flavors, artfully crafted small plates, and a carefully curated selection of wines and beers that perfectly complement the cuisine.
The atmosphere at La Feria is an inviting blend of lively and intimate—a space that’s relaxed yet warmly welcoming, ideal for both casual gatherings and romantic evenings. Whether seated by the open windows enjoying a refreshing breeze or beneath the soft glow of dimmed lights, guests find themselves enveloped in an ambiance that effortlessly transitions from early evening conviviality to a cozy, moody night-time vibe.
The menu is a celebration of Spain’s rich culinary heritage, featuring an array of dishes that excite the senses with every bite. Standouts include the Patatas Bravas, delivering crispy potatoes bathed in a smoky, spicy sauce, and the Gambas Al Ajillo, where tender shrimp are sizzling in fragrant garlic-infused olive oil. Seafood lovers rave about the Baby Octopus and Pulpo a La Gallega—the octopus tentacles are tender and subtly sweet, a true delight for adventurous palates. Notably, the Sardina a La Parrilla offers perfectly grilled sardines that boast a crispy skin and delicate texture, proving a hit even with those initially hesitant about this traditionally humble fish.
Vegetarian options such as the Grilled Asparagus and the hearty Pisto Manchego, a stewed vegetable medley topped with a rich fried egg, showcase the kitchen’s thoughtful touch and vibrant use of fresh ingredients. For those with a penchant for indulgence, savor the Chocolate Con Churros or the silky Flan Al Caramelo, delivering sweet conclusions that satisfy without overpowering.
La Feria’s drink selection is as thoughtfully assembled as its food, featuring Spanish rosados such as Garduño’s Bobal from Castilla and the richly fruity Clarete De Luna from Cigales, alongside a variety of bottled beers including the crisp Estrella Galicia and the gluten-free Estrella Daura Damm. For the undecided, their beer flights allow you to sample multiple flavors, enhancing the tapas experience further.
Guests consistently praise La Feria’s attentive and knowledgeable service team, who enhance the dining journey by guiding diners through menu selections and perfectly paired drinks. As one diner put it, “The flat steak and baby octopus were 10/10” with waitstaff providing insights that deepen appreciation of each dish’s background and flavor profile.
La Feria stands as a gem in Detroit’s culinary scene—a place where every plate invites exploration and discovery, every sip complements the vibrancy of Spanish culture, and every visit leaves you longing to return. Whether you’re craving the smoky hit of bacon-wrapped dates with almonds, the zesty pop of bombas, or the refreshing brightness of an Agua De Valencia cocktail, this tapas bar captures the joyful essence of shared dining with passion and authenticity.
The flat steak and the baby octopus were 10/10. If I come back, I think I could order 10 of them and not get tired of it. I wish the portions were bigger, but its a tapas place so I guess the portions are supposed to be small. Waiters were knowledgeable and could explain different menu items and drinks to me. Street parking isn't free and depending on what time of the day you go, you won't find parking ever.
Honestly, what I enjoyed the most was the atmosphere. It was relaxed, yet welcoming, with a small hint of romantic. We were quite fortunate that we were able to sit by the open windows as there was a wonderful breeze as we enjoyed the many different kinds of tapas. If you go there around 6 or 7,you'll get to experience two different atmospheres as they dim the lights inside and turn on these nicely placed lightbulbs that are outside. The food was quite good. There was a good variety and it was well flavored and seasoned. I was content to have been able to try something as strange as watermelon soup though the taste was not as exotic as the name implies it to be. The one thing I was not super thrilled about was the service. Don't get me wrong, the people that served us were great!... When they came around. It took a bit more time than expected to get attended and a few times we had to catch their attention because they hadn't stopped by the table in a while. Overall a nice place for some good tapas. Highly recommended for a relaxing date.
This place is solid. Good service , fun energy and different food in the Detroit area. Fairly traditional. Small plates so order order order and try a lot of the different items. They do sardines really well. Wine is tasty.
Check this out! That beautiful square fuchsia -hued deliciousness is beet gazpacho! Four us enjoyed so many flavors and textures. Do you like canned sardines? Try the fresh roasted sardines! Aren’t they cute! - the skin and bones are crunchy-chew well! Ask for the pulpo sliced - it’s soft and slightly sweet and fun. It’s a tentacle - you get to eat an octopus’s tentacle! The wine was rich and perfect with the variety of foods. Agua de Valencia, a Mediterranean cocktail crafted with oranges and cava, is not on the menu, but they will make it for you. The churros are fresh and warm and crunchy. Someone in the kitchen was a bit too enthusiastic and overcooked the tortilla, wonderful comfort food made with eggs and potatoes. The steak was so good. I don’t remember everything. Oh, we arrived on time for an early dinner reservation Friday. No rush yet, but filled quickly. Attentive knowledgeable service - we asked for clean plates at least once - no problem. The servers tell you the name of the food when they put it on your table - such a good idea. Filled water glasses too. Our server had visited the Alhambra - so nice to share a rare experience with someone! I think the only thing that would make this experience better is a personal tong- tweezer tool to use so I don’t have to stick my fork into foods I’m sharing with other people. Especially olives. I look forward to eating here again!
Some of the best food we’ve ever had, everything was perfect. The Pisto Manchego (stewed veggies with an egg on top) and fried eggplant with honey were our favourites but everything we tried was delicious. The sangria was also great and the service was friendly and quick. Update: one of our favourite restaurants anywhere!! Can’t go wrong with a single thing in the menu there
5 stars for everything!!! Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing night out. We ordered mini tapas, sardines, and croquettes—everything was incredibly delicious and full of flavor. The service was super quick and friendly, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for authentic and tasty tapas!
La Feria staff was friendly and engaging. The food was delicious! We enjoyed several tapas and drinks sitting at the bar and were very happy with the quality of the food and drinks. I will most definitely be back and try a full meal experience. Nice atmosphere for catching up with a friend and having some drinks and aps!
La Feria is one of a kind restaurant in Detroit. It offer Spanish Tapas and Spanish theme drinks. Don't come here hungry though, because Tapas are not supposed to fill you up, otherwise you will have a pretty big tap. You can try a variety of tapas and every one of them pack with flavors. Nimble on a piece of fresh grill octopus, pair with a sip of sangria and you will have a good time. Except for the potatoes, it is just like the garlic hashbrown I make at home, but cost is triple
